Kainé

A beautiful yet hot-tempered swordswoman, Kainé travels with [Nier](https://anilist.co/character/138303/Nier) and [Grimoire Weiss](https://anilist.co/character/317452/Shiro-no-Sho) on their journey to cure Nier's [sister](https://anilist.co/character/138305/Yonah). Along the way she meets a boy named [Emil](https://anilist.co/character/138302/Emil), who she treats like a younger brother; he is the only person she is unfailingly kind to. Kainé often keeps to herself; her body being half-possessed by a Shade as well as her intersex nature makes her an outcast among most, but she learns to survive on her own using her ability to wield magic through the Shade occupying her body, as well as her skill with the twin swords she wields. Despite this, Kainé is secretly glad to have Nier's company.
