Maria is a Garrison soldier stationed in Shiganshina District and is the childhood friend of Angel and Sorum, as well as his fiancée. Unable to talk Sorum out of the Survey Corps, she became a Garrison soldier to protect the wall where he leaves and returns for expeditions.
