He is in fourth grade and suffers from asthma to the extent that he and his sisters have moved to live with their uncle in the hopes of his condition improving. Because he has often been sick and home-bound, he has developed an interest in feminine hobbies such as designing and making clothing and dolls. He is spending a lot of time with Lillian who also boards at his uncle's house.
