Akira Mimori

Maternal uncle to the orphaned Mimori siblings and a successful young novelist who also writes books on local folklore. Because his old farmhouse is so large he also rents rooms to the Acker family and takes care of the two children in the absence of their father. While he may appear lazy and a bit of an airhead, he actually works very hard late at night on his books and is the adult responsible for the three Mimori and two Acker children.
