Kayoko Shigeta

Shigeta is an attractive but insecure woman who is quick to fall for potential suitors and even quicker to draw conclusions about those who she perceives as threatening her love life. Aimless, she has several different minimum wage jobs throughout the series but is always fired for being unreliable. Because of this, she finds herself broke and/or homeless on multiple occasions. Shigeta always thinks in extremes; if she likes someone, that must mean they're her soulmate. If they break up, then that must mean she'll die alone. However, she's not one to hold on to lost love and quickly rebounds from one man to the next. She rarely learns from her mistakes, even when she winds up in life threatening situations. The only constants in her life are Fuku - her roommate and best friend, and Takahashi - a man who adores her despite it all. ~!Takahashi proposes to her at one point, but she calls the engagement off. Eventually they do get married!~
