Happy

Happy is an Akita dog and the narrator of the first part of the story. As a puppy, he is left in a box on the side of the road and picked up by Miku, who names him "Happy" and pleads with her parents to keep him. After several years of living with the family, the father sets out on a roadtrip and takes Happy with him. Happy enjoys the times when he and father go out on walks and father talks to him.
