Lyrica lived in the slums, working constantly to support herself and her mother. Despite the squalor of her conditions, she was recognized as a reliable worker who would never steal. Although she loves her mother, Lyrica recognizes her mother's bad spending habits, and would often hide money to save for rent. After her mother enters a contract marriage with Emperor Alteris, Lyrica is adopted as his daughter, and she becomes a princess. She is extremely optimistic and has a strong faith in the good in others.
