She is a member of the Takamura Clan, one of the high-ranking Fudai families, and constantly strives to live up to the family name, and to the reputation of her father, a legendary soldier. Because of this, she has a strict and uncompromising personality and is very hard on herself. Yui is sent to Yukon Base as the Japanese lead developer of the XFJ Program. As a Japanese person, she finds Yuuya’s criticism of Japan frustrating, and makes no attempt to hide her irritation. The two of them clash constantly. Yuuya often calls her "Japanese Doll" behind her back, and others in Argus flight call her Princess Yui.
