Misumi Tanaka

The other SDF officer who befriended the children and assumed one of the empty places in Zearth's group. An intelligent and perceptive woman, she is married with a 10-year old daughter. Her surname prior to marriage is Sato, and she knew Jun and Kana's father 13 years ago. In the anime series, Misumi's husband is already deceased and her only child is actually Jun, but for some reason, she hides the truth from him, even after Kana asks her to locate his real mother. She is killed while facing the assassins of Komoda's father, not only creating another empty seat in the pilot roster, but also dying without telling her own son who she was. Her first child in the manga is also revealed to be Jun: she left him with Kana's father (an old teacher of hers) thirteen years ago, as she didn't feel she had the right to raise him herself. ~!She dies being captured by the enemy after her fighter plane is taken down by one of the fighters of the alternate earth they were fighting and after seeing Kanna's indecision to fight she shoot herself.!~
