During the final summer of high school, Rinataro, despite his last-ditch efforts, is once again defeated by his rival, Fujisawa, in the Junior International 120-kilometer road race, known as the "Tour de Okinawa". Both Rinataro and Fujisawa aspire to compete in the world's premier cycling road race, the "Tour de France". After the race, they share their dreams with each other. However, at that moment, an urgent report arrives, informing Rinataro that his family has been involved in a traffic accident. In an instant, he loses his mother and sister, and his father is left in a vegetative state.
