Okami-san: Heisei Basho

Sumo is the national sport of Japan. In the past, sumo was so popular that the names of the yokozunas are famous and well-known even by children. Today, kids do not like stripping naked and strapping on the mawashi belt, and even those who take up the sport soon quit because they can't get used to sleeping and eating with a large stable of men when they've been coddled with a private room at home all their life. In additional to the problem of the “3K's," representing its “old-fashioned" (customs), "dirty" (muddy ring), and "strict" (training), the sport has been hit by further “scandals” recently.

In these adverse times, Wakaba Yamada, a complete sumo novice, suddenly finds herself running a sumo stable thanks to her husband, who became the stablemaster in the aftermath of a scandal. She didn't have much of a choice in the matter, and she'll surely get into lot of trouble! What will happen when trainees from today's “yutori-generation” meets a woman of modern sensibilities in a traditional sumo stable? Stay tuned!
